The evidence-based framework is unique in that findings from different kinds of studies are considered of equal value when the relationship between practices and its benefits is clear and defensible. This paper includes an operational definition of evidence-based practices and guidelines for examining the characteristics and consequences for different types of interventions. Examples of the use of the framework for aggregating findings for the different studies are included.
