Pivotal Response Training appears to be effective for improving the social or emotional behaviors of young children with autism. The practice targets behaviors that are central (“pivotal”) for a wide range of functioning for children with autism. This research synthesis focuses on the effectiveness of PRT as a behavioral intervention for young children with autism spectrum disorders.
