Available research findings offer a strong foundation for paying close attention to child interests and using them to select effective learning opportunities. Children are likely to learn best when they have opportunities to be involved in interest-based learning opportunities. Identify a child’s personal interests and provide plenty of opportunities to do the things that interest him or her most. This lets him or her express interests, practice doing things he or she can already do, and learn to do new things.
