Evidence supports the use of dialogic reading as a practice for facilitating early language development with children ages 4 and 5. Dialogic reading is an interactive style of adult-child shared picture book reading. This practice-based research synthesis focuses on dialogic reading, which may help to develop and enhance the emergent literacy and language development of children 4 and 5 years of age.
